1964 USAC National Championship (FM-AM)

March 26th - Homestead-Miami Speedway (dry) - Rounds 1 & 2

April 9th - Top Gear West Reverse (dry & wet) - Rounds 3 & 4

April 23rd - Homestead-Miami Speedway (wet) - Rounds 5 & 6

May 7th - Indianapolis Speedway (Indianapolis 125-Mile Sweepstakes) - Round 7

May 21st - Indianapolis GP - Rounds 8 & 9

June 4th - Daytona Tri-oval (day) - Rounds 10 & 11

*Races will begin at 12:00 eastern / 17:00 gmt

Rounds #1 and #2 will be held at the Homestead-Miami oval (dry) on March 26th.

The rest of the schedule will be finalized this weekend.

The 1964 USAC National Championship calendar and rules have been posted!

Some key points:

- All cars will be run with no upgrades.
- Cautions will be used for incidents involving two or more cars.
- Top Gear Test Track will have one race in the dry and one in the wet.
- Indianapolis qualifying will be a week long event.

Say, since the 1964 season had the Pikes Peak Hill Climb, this gives me an idea:

For the last race of the season (or replacing another race already), what if we ran one lap at the Nordschleife in the rain? Of course it would be a single car run for each participant to simulate a rally stage. Coinciding with 1964 season, it would be a non-championship race.

Just throwing it out there.

I'm really looking forward to this series! I won't be able to make the first race though as we have a baby shower for the twins that are coming in May :)

I'm going to see if I can get a teammate to sign up with me and then sign up.

That was some coconuts racing between Wiry and Nightmare today. Easily a candidate for one of the best battles I've ever seen in GSR. Looking forward to watching the replay later and seeing the entire thing.

That track in those cars was a lot of fun especially with as many cars as we had. Apologies to Mike and Wiry in race two for the contact.

Definitely one of the more enjoyable races I've had since joining GSR. Looking forward to the next one!

No need for an apology with regard to the contact, that second race in the rain was hectic.

I mean, there is a sign-up button over there for a reason...

...because it's definitely better than fantasy space pirates, that's for sure!
