There is a slight reduction in top speed, but nothing substantial.

Toyota goes from 339 KPH to 335 KPH
Audi goes from 338 KPH to 326 KPH in Fuji configuration and 343 KPH in Le Mans configuration
Porsche is at 335 KPH

If I remember correctly they changed the regs that year to deliberately slow the cars some. The cars had more inherent aero to them i think. The record qualifing lap was largely due to near perfect conditions and a nearly empty track.

I will add though from what I can tell so far the BOP in the new LMP1 class is better than the old ones.

Yeah the top speeds are about the same but the old cars have way more boost. Just run an old ghost and you'll see. I was 5 seconds down on myself in the new cars just after the second Shikane at Le Mans and about 8 at the end of the lap. If we all go to the new cars though it will be a good balance but if some swap and others don't it will be like running 2 different class of cars. Just my 2 cents worth :)

THR Operator: How exactly do you have the cars before everyone else? I just saw you and a couple others in a lobby running the p1 2016 class and couldn’t pick any of the cars. I’m just wondering how you can?

I’ve read that it’s released in Australia and New Zealand so you can change your region to get it.

Operator has the game on PC as well, I think it may have been released for PC before Xbox. Not sure though.

If it brings the BOP closer then it isn’t a bad thing. I do think everyone should be forced into using the new cars, if indeed they are so much slower than the old. Otherwise I don’t see it being a fair and level playing field.

TBH I am too cause even the RWD and Marek can run 3:09s and that sorta time just is not feasible in the new cars. The new Audi is by far the fastest at Le Mans and I ran a 11 flat on a really good lap. They just don't have the boost allotment to keep up even though they are faster by a few MPH down the straights.
