The Global Sim Racing Formula C series kicked off with round one taking place at Imola in perfect conditions with there being only a few clouds scattered around the track.

The 15-minute qualifying session got underway as the entire field left the pit garages to get their banker laps in before the final push for the ultimate lap times got put in as the drivers tried to eek out every last tenth of a second from their cars.

The session finished with none other than Nightmare x24x taking yet another GSR pole position by lapping an impressive 01:36.060 a whole 2.014 seconds ahead of Maverick who lapped the track in a 1:38.074 to claim second place on the grid ahead of 27COLTON27 who was just 0.4 behind in third to round out the top 3.

As the lights went green tire smoke filled the air as the drivers let the clutches out with one car actually spinning in a circle on the line. The drivers made their way down to the first turn the tricky left-right-left chicane. All cars got through with only a few minor bumps to contend with. Nightmare and Maverick had seemed to get there starts just right as they managed to build a small gap to 3rd coming into turn 3. As the pack settled down a number of battles formed with 4 cars fighting over 3rd spot followed but another 5 car battled for the lower spots within the top 10.

Halfway through the race a number of drivers went into the pits to get those final few litres of fuel to get them to the end of the race with some opting to also get a new set of tires while they were there for some added pace in the latter stages of the race.

By this stage Nightmare had pulled a gap, with 27COLTON2 who hiad settled into  2nd with a comfortable gap back thebeardyguy who was in 3rd.

In the last few laps a battled had emerged for the 8th spot between Samkel racing's Samson and South East Coast Racing’s MrMarko1100 with Marko getting the better of him after Samson ran wide and Marko slipped through the gap surprising both drivers in the process. While this was happening Nightmare crossed the line in first ahead of 27COLTON27 in second and thebeardyguy in 3rd.

Round 2 takes place on the 23rd of July at the Dubai Autodrome GP circuit.
