Global Sim Racing European Truck Racing Championship (FM Level 1)
Season Preview

Over 1000HP, Over 3,500 foot pounds of torque and over 12,000 pounds in weight.

Over 1000HP, Over 3,500 foot pounds of torque and over 12,000 pounds in weight. Those are probably the highest performance numbers for any series in the history of GSR. Many of you would most likely think that those sorts of statistics would be for an overall grid but not in this case. In fact these are the statistics for each individual vehicle which can only mean that European truck racing is coming to GSR.

A 5 round, 10 race series, has been launched as the very first season for 2017 on GSR, going to some of Europe’s most iconic race tracks like Monza, Nurburgring and Spa Francorchamps to name but a few.

Each driver will have at their disposal a 2015 Mercedes-Benz Racing Truck, meaning that the only difference between them will be how the teams set them up and of course the driver behind the wheel.

Already 6 drivers have signed up and entered for the series which is due to kick off on January 1st 2017 at 5pm GMT with many of the usual teams and drivers returning to race again in 2017, like Raptor Racings BCKracer71, Join.T a team name not familiar to me has taken on the services of GRD 4 3L for this series along with another handful of drivers including the early odds on favourite Nightmare x24x driving once again for MBI Racing.

Speaking at the launch of the series we got the chance to get a few words from GSR Head, MR Blonde V who had this to say:

“Having the chance to introduce these trucks to GSR was something that couldn’t be passed up. What better way to start the year of with the first-round of racing around the high-speed track of Monza with over 1000HP underneath your right foot. It’s something that is going to be quite a sight, I can tell you already”

It isn’t yet known if there are any more drivers planning to sign up before round one, but they need not worry as sign-ups will stay open during the 5 rounds.
