Figured I would post this to try and help some of you cut some quicker times and give you a reference of how hard you can push the car. Hopefully this will help to some degree.

Turn 1: You should be switching over into 5th gear halfway between turn 1 and 2

Turn 2: I like to run this corner wide then cut it back in sharp, increasing my exit speed.

Turn 3: I'm in 4th gear by the time i hit this turn, i kick it down into 3rd once i get there. Your average speed entering, exiting, and going around this corner should be well above 60mph.

Turn 4: Do not brake for this corner. Just lift, how much you you want to lift is up to and what your comfortable with. You can lose a lot of time here

Turn 5: I'm up into 5th by the time i am here. Drop it into third and cut into the corner as much as you can, you want to make this corner as straight as possible so you can shoot up the hill.

Turn 6: Do not brake for this corner. Keep the car in 4th and lift off but not let off. My driver side tires run off the track. Dont worry, its not considered a cut. Your speed should NOT drop below 80mph

Turn 7: Do what ever you want here. Im usually braking at the top of the hill.

Turn 8: Dont think of this as a corkscrew but more like just one turn, youd be surpirsed how straight you can keep the car going through this with the right line.

Turn 9: This is a 4th gear turn. Dont brake for this corner just lift, Cut into the apex as much as you can or you'll either have to let off or brake, or both.

Turn 10: Almost at the top of 4th gear, tap the brakes and kick the car into 3rd and floor it.

Turn 11: I like to brake early here so i can exit out of it harder, but do whatever works for you.

It all boils down to your racing line and where and how your turn into the corners. Be mindful of being gentle with this car. Scrubing mph off is extremely easy and can be a difference of 1-2 seconds.
Hope this helps

Ran for about 30 minutes tonight. Started at 1:51's and worked my way down to consistent 1:49.5's
Thu 06 Mar 2014, 08:33
Ran my fastest lap so far, a 1:46.9.

I think both rounds at Laguna Seca are going to be quite competitive and very tight from top to bottom. It's a track that is all about rhythm and momentum that most of us have been racing on for years. It should be a gooder!

I'm going to jump on for a bit of practice at 10pm tonight. If you guys are on then I'll jump into your lobby.
Fri 07 Mar 2014, 17:42
Where do we check in at? I'll be there Saturday, and sorry about skipping on the practice last night, stuff came up and I had to run out somewhere and I forgot to turn off my box.
Fri 07 Mar 2014, 17:43
Check you're private messages. lol
Fri 07 Mar 2014, 17:45
Oh, I didn't know I was supposed to respond to that lmao.
Fri 07 Mar 2014, 17:56
It would be appreciated. Need to give the reserve drivers a bit of a heads up before tomorrow.
Fri 07 Mar 2014, 18:03
Yeah that makes sense, hopefully we can have a full field. I just ran 2 more laps so now my lap total is at 8 :D but I hit a 1:47.575 with Dave's Sebring tune.
Fri 07 Mar 2014, 18:07
Fuck I'm slow around Laguna. lol

I have no doubt we will get a full field, we have 25 entries so one way or another I'm certain we can get 16 tomorrow.
Fri 07 Mar 2014, 19:23
Don't feel bad Blonde, i'm slow compared to BCK and Romeo. Romeo said he was running 1:45.1's and he could get faster so yeah he has the field covered, again.
Fri 07 Mar 2014, 23:47
did you consider two lobbies if we get a full turnout for the Mazda race, hate to turn anyone away.
Sat 08 Mar 2014, 00:29
Two lobbies involves qualifying most likely and that would be way more time consuming and way more work.
