Just a reminder that rounds 3 and 4 of the MX-5 Cup are TODAY at Laguna Seca at 3:00pm eastern/8:00pm gmt. The warmup lobby will be open 90 minutes before the race.

Race starts at 8:00gmt fella, so 9 is too late i'm afraid.
I mentioned this last race, the count down timer is wrong for us in the UK, it says 9:00 GMT but the counter counts down to 8:00 GMT and the race is actually at 8:00 GMT

Opening up the practice lobby half an hour earlier? Sounds good to me!

Hey Guys--Checking in--This is my first race and judging by your lap times, I'm worried more about how many times I get lapped. Good luck to all and I'll try to stay out of the way.
Sat 08 Mar 2014, 21:01
How do I check in?
Sat 08 Mar 2014, 23:30
thanks guys, sorry I had mic problems (again). Maybe next time I will have it all going.
Not too chuffed at being in the middle of three abreast in the first race, first lap at the corkscrew... not much chance and then damage for the rest of the race :(
Sat 08 Mar 2014, 23:45
Not gonna lie.... I had to go look up what chuffed mean't.

How did round two go? My internet dropped after round one. Kind of a shitty deal.

Round 3 and 4 results will be posted soon!

the laguna seca races were fantastic, I have the races and a three wide pic at the corkscrew on
xbox in my video section. I climbed as high as 6th in the first race and slowly fell back to 11th. Again these races are remarkably clean especially due to the wide range of skill levels of the racers involved. Round 2 had a decent rolling start. I find the second race very exciting as all the faster guys have to work their way around me as well as avoid damage, Amplitude went from last to 2nd on the very first lap of race 2. He is like a brain surgeon on a race track.

started practicing this morning for the road Atlanta course, posted a 1.12.1, its fast for me but I think I can get into the 1.11, not much better than that though, so its back of the pack again.Turn 1 is the key to this track, you can take it quite fast, but there is no run off and margin of error is small, and I cut the lawn several times this morning.
I tried two different lines, inside , breaking to the apex and getting on the power, safe easy.
the outside line may be faster but I mess it to often, break early, turn in late and it straigtens out the hill climb, you can carry and build a lot of speed.
turn 10A and 10B are important also, lots of markers and lines on the pavement to get that break point right on the end of the straight. The curbs on the left side after 10A and before 10B gave me some problems, so don't bite them to much.

I like the compliment of being a brain surgeon... especially because I start my pre-med classes next semester! I will probably run some laps at Road Atlanta today or tomorrow just to see what the car can do.

I just stuck 10 laps in on Road Atlanta and am averaging 1:09.500 with my best clean lap so far at 1:08.775... There is still another second in there too I recon.

I do love Road Atlanta Club.

I made 5 laps. Best lap was a 1:10.263 so it looks like I have some work to do. I'm losing time in turn 1, top of the hill, and end of the back straight. Everywhere else you are wide open.
Sun 09 Mar 2014, 23:15
Did about 15 laps. My best was a 1:08.815. Because you're wide open most of the track, it's extremely easy to scrub speed pretty much anywhere.
