2017 Global Endurance Championship (PC & FM)

Tue 20 Dec 2016, 14:45

In 2014, it took Wagon/Dave/Blonde, Carter/Macace and Insayne/Woody/Nightmare 36 hours to earn the right the be called champions. In 2016, it took SECR (Copper/Marko) and SamKel (Samson/Maverick) 48 hours to earn that same right. We won't know until December who will add their names to the list of GSREC champions; but we do know it will take them a record 54 hours complete with all of the countless euphoric highs and crushing lows that come with multi-class P1 & GT racing on 6 of the world's greatest endurance race circuits.

Grab a friend or two (or drive solo if you have no friends) and get behind the wheel of one of today's finest LMP 1 or GT3 cars for the ultimate test of endurance.

This championship will again take place on both FM and PC, with 3 races taking place on FM (Daytona, Nurbugring and Road Atlanta) and 3 taking place on PC (Silverstone, Le Mans and Spa). This year, Silverstone will replace Sebring and Spa has been extended from a 6 hour to a 12 hour event.

February 11th - 12 Hours of Daytona (FM)
April 22nd - 6 Hours of Silverstone (PC)
June 10th - 12 Hours of Le Mans (PC)
August 12th - 6 Hours of Nurburgring (FM)
October 14th - 12 Hours of Spa (PC)
December 16th - 6 Hours of Road Atlanta (FM)

Unfortunately, with our luck, there was no other way that could have ended for us. I had a ton fun battling for stint leads with the Quimera guys, though! Congrats to them and MBI.

On the bright side, I think we'll be pretty strong at Silverstone (if we can stay in the lobby).
Sun 12 Feb 2017, 14:58
First I want to thank everyone involved with GSR staff by making this possible and the awesome way you all guys presents an event like this.

I just hope (I tried) I have not caused damage to any GT car while passing or to any other LMP, I was involved in some incidents but basically they hit me I think so it makes me feel better.

Some GT cars never check their maps or mirrors or whatever, you are not racing alone on track, so check the minimap before every corner and mirrors or backview exiting them so that way you will be aware of traffic, we all have our single race but we have to share the track on a safer way.

I,m not friend of being noticing on party chat to every car "left" "right" "going high" "etc", because sometimes people dont even know is with them or it confused them and things got worst.
Sun 12 Feb 2017, 15:04
I would have been happy to stay on general party chat but some people never got quiet, when I sais "you talk to much shit" i wasnt talking to Rieck wich by the way my apologies if my comment went directly to him who is a person I respect a lot. I ment everyone there who didnt kept chat to RACE only and when my dogs started to bark they complained.

I can barely hear my car, actually I hear more the others cars than mine, and I dont volume up my TV because it may annoy you guys so that is way a deal.
Sun 12 Feb 2017, 15:13
My respects to Blackbird racing by the way they managed fuel consuption, and the awesome clean racing we had.

I think Rieck was the fastest guy on track yesterday, actually Berp was chocked on stint 4 and 6 because he was catching him or pulling away, awesome job driving the audi, I cant imagine what he can do on the Porsche.

And things were not easy for us yesterday, we had to climb from botom to top almost every stint, but thats the way we love racing.

Thank you all and just hope my poor english expresed all I ment to say.
Sun 12 Feb 2017, 15:22
I'll admit that sometimes the party chat did go off course in the race because I remembered that me, Maverick and couple others were talking about Planet Coaster in the middle of stint 5 lol.
Sun 12 Feb 2017, 15:29
Surely if you mention the drivers name you are coming up to pass there will be no confusion as to who you are talking to .

A simple solution to background noise that you don't want being broadcast to the party . Mute your mic . Then when you need to talk or say something unmute say what you need to say and then mute again .
Sun 12 Feb 2017, 15:42
I understand that you didn't want to be in a party in the race which is fine, it isn't mandatory. (Even though I wasn't exactly happy about it) Unfortunately Forza is stupid and doesn't put mirrors on the GT cars like Project Cars which is why most LMP drivers were calling their passes, also most GT drivers wanted the LMP drivers to at least give them a heads up before making a pass. I also wouldn't say I was the fastest car on the track exactly.... I had my moments but to be pretty honest I had a bad race except for the last stint.
Sun 12 Feb 2017, 16:05
I'm using phone auriculars and dont have mute on/off. and as I said I dont have to tell a GT car what to do I know where to make a pass but GT didnt kept their lines. I raced GT for years on endurances races in game and real life and never needed to be told where is someone. need I check your temp too?
Sun 12 Feb 2017, 16:33
no you dont have to tell a GT car what to do . but then again i never said you had to tell a gt car what to do . as rieck said a simple heads up is all that was needed . every lmp car was doing that except for yourself and berpdator and to be honest i dont see any other lmp teams making comments about gt traffic .

i think its fantastic you have raced gt for years in eudurance races online and in real life . but just because you never needed something doesnt mean that everyone isnt going to need it .
Sun 12 Feb 2017, 16:45
Im not a friend of that as I said I believe every driver needs to be aware of everything in his own screen and Im not complaining of GT traffic Im complaining of some drivers who used to wanders all over the track. I had no problems with the SLS or BMW I think.
