2017 Global Endurance Championship (PC & FM)

Tue 20 Dec 2016, 14:45

In 2014, it took Wagon/Dave/Blonde, Carter/Macace and Insayne/Woody/Nightmare 36 hours to earn the right the be called champions. In 2016, it took SECR (Copper/Marko) and SamKel (Samson/Maverick) 48 hours to earn that same right. We won't know until December who will add their names to the list of GSREC champions; but we do know it will take them a record 54 hours complete with all of the countless euphoric highs and crushing lows that come with multi-class P1 & GT racing on 6 of the world's greatest endurance race circuits.

Grab a friend or two (or drive solo if you have no friends) and get behind the wheel of one of today's finest LMP 1 or GT3 cars for the ultimate test of endurance.

This championship will again take place on both FM and PC, with 3 races taking place on FM (Daytona, Nurbugring and Road Atlanta) and 3 taking place on PC (Silverstone, Le Mans and Spa). This year, Silverstone will replace Sebring and Spa has been extended from a 6 hour to a 12 hour event.

February 11th - 12 Hours of Daytona (FM)
April 22nd - 6 Hours of Silverstone (PC)
June 10th - 12 Hours of Le Mans (PC)
August 12th - 6 Hours of Nurburgring (FM)
October 14th - 12 Hours of Spa (PC)
December 16th - 6 Hours of Road Atlanta (FM)

Nice turnout today! I think we probably had around 20 drivers or so at various points. Saw some pretty close times too. Should be an intense 6 hours.

That battle between Dead Arm and SamKel was coconuts. I didn't know two cars could battle so hard for 6 straight hours. Congrats to Dead Arm for not only taking it to the defending champs 2 on 1, but beating them!

And congrats to SECR for the 1-2 GT sweep. The #60 really reminded everyone why they are the defending GT champions.

Time for the 12 Hours of Le Mans yet?

Nice race, fellas! That was a blast. Way to go SECR and nicely done Mission and Murphy. Let's keep the momentum going into Le Mans.

You drove more laps than Bullit and Murphys in your stint, Chunt. Not a bad debut at all. :)

Thank you, sir. I'm glad it went well. I just tried to minimize mistakes and drive smoothly. Thanks to all who hosted.

Great effort man . Really solid first stint by you

Awesome job by Chunt and Mission, and thank you to Chunt for the setup changes prior to the race.

I was just logging laps as the car and track were difficult. There was a moment at Stowe where I lost it in front of the leading GT car, who happened to be Marko!

As the decision to park the car in the middle of my stint, it was essentially a strategy move on my part. Knowing that we secured 2nd in class and that was the goal from Daytona, I was quite pleased.
